At your new patient examination we will begin by screening for any underlying oral health issues such as gum disease and oral cancers. We will examine your teeth, fillings and restorations, and usually take X-rays. If you’re interested in cosmetic treatment, we’ll discuss the options available to you.
You’ll leave your first appointment with a clear and reassuring understanding of your oral health, an estimate of any dental treatment required, and a recommendation of the steps required to improve your dental health and aesthetics.
You should have a check-up every six months to spot early signs of tooth decay or any other problems which are generally not a big issue if spotted early. Your dentist is able to spot and diagnose problems which you can’t see at home, so regular check-ups are essential to ensuring you don’t develop any serious problems further down the line.
