Teeth straightening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments. It’s impossible to underestimate the confidence that a great smile brings, and better tooth alignment can also lead to improved oral health and less likelihood of future problems.
We offer teeth straightening as part of a comprehensive range of cosmetic dental treatments. We are a welcoming, family-run clinic and are experts at helping you find the right treatment to fit your goals and your budget. Contact us today and let us help you start your journey to a straighter, more confident smile.
We offer various options to straighten your teeth. These include Invisalign® , fixed, removable, visible and discrete teeth straightening options.
Invisalign® is the most popular tooth straightening treatment. In Invisalign® treatment, custom-made transparent retainers are designed specifically to fit your teeth. The retainers are worn during the day and night and are generally unnoticeable. As you progress through your treatment, you receive new retainers every fortnight, to gradually bring your teeth into the desired alignment. For full information see our Invisalign page.
Also are available fixed orthodontic treatments. These can be fitted either to the front of the teeth (labial orthodontics) or the back (lingual orthodontics). The choice between retainers and fixed orthodontics depends on various factors. Some people prefer traditional orthodontic braces as they do not have to worry about remembering to put them in and take them out, or may simply not like the feel of wearing a retainer. Fixed orthodontics are also generally more suitable for complex cases or more extreme misalignment.
My valued colleagues are hand-picked and have to demonstrate the highest level of clinical ability, and to be warm and friendly people who love looking after others.
Sometimes, we keep it in the family. My wife also plays a key role in Blue Finch Dental, ensuring our values of treatment excellence and family care are transmitted through the company.

There is lots to consider when starting your journey to a straighter smile, so we offer a free 15-minute face-to-face consultation to anyone considering straightening treatments. During the relaxed consultation, your dentist will conduct a brief examination of your teeth, discuss with you what treatments might be suitable, and answer any questions you may have.
Unless you have had one quite recently, we’ll normally then recommend a full dental examination before commencing any straightening treatment. This allows us to ensure there are no other issues which may need to be addressed, or to carry out any other treatments (e.g. hygiene or fillings) which may be necessary.
Once the examination and any other treatments are complete, we can then start you on your chosen straightening treatment.
The length of time teeth straightening takes depends on how far the teeth need to move and the type of treatment you are having. Whatever method is used, teeth straightening involves gradually pulling or pushing the teeth into a different position in the bone, so it is always a reasonably slow, gentle process.
Typically, completing teeth straightening treatment will take approximately 6-9 months. During this time you’ll continue with regular visits to the clinic every few weeks to check on the progress of your teeth and ensure everything is going to plan, and to make any necessary adjustments to your fixed orthodontics if you have them. If you’ve chosen Invisalign ® treatment, you’ll receive new retainers every 2 weeks.
Once your straightening treatment is complete, your dentist will recommend that you continue to wear retainers in some shape or form. This will usually be all of the time, to help the teeth to set into their new alignment and/or prevent them from moving back.
Most people choose teeth straightening treatments for cosmetic reasons. A straighter smile and greater willingness to smile openly and freely can positively affect our social interactions, our relationships, and our professional opportunities. All of this leads to greater confidence and self-esteem, a greater sense of security, and a generally happier you.
There are also a range of health benefits to undergoing straightening treatments. Better aligned teeth are less prone to plaque buildup and are easier to keep clean, making problems like gum disease and tooth decay less likely. Better bite alignment also reduces the risk of trauma injuries.
In short, teeth straightening is not simply a vanity measure, but a positive treatment that can make a significant long-term difference to your relationships, health and happiness.
Fees for teeth straightening treatments vary depending on the type of treatment and the complexity of your particular case. As a guide, Invisalign and labial orthodontics start at £2100, whilst lingual orthodontics start at £3100.
During your complimentary initial consultation, your dentist will provide a more accurate estimate of treatment costs tailored to your specific case, considering factors such as treatment duration and the most suitable treatment approach for your needs.
Finance and pay-as-you-go are available and can be discussed with your dentist at the initial consultation.

Suitable for more complex cases where retainers alone will not be enough to straighten your teeth, labial orthodontics involves fitting a clear or tooth coloured component to the outside of your teeth. Sometimes this treatment might be followed up with retainer treatment. Your dentist will help you understand the right option for you.
Lingual orthodontics are fitted to the inside of your teeth rather than the outside, meaning no-one will be able to notice that you are using orthodontics.
Although possible and recommended courses of treatment depend on the complexity and idiosyncrasies of your particular case, lingual orthodontics might be a better choice for you if it is important to you that your orthodontics go unnoticed – particularly if you have professional considerations (e.g. an actor).
Your dentist will help you understand the right treatment option for you.
